New trends in social participation

Participación social desde el uso de tecnología

Corporate volunteering has changed in recent years, creating new trends in social participation. It has been transformed along with the growth of individuals, social awareness and the involvement of the organisations that make it up. There are many types of corporate volunteering, as many as there are companies that offer it to their employees. There are skills-based professional volunteering projects, environmental, health and social volunteering… They all have one thing in common and that is the participation of people.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic paralysed us all, almost 100% of the activities were face-to-face. This brought an extra excitement and connection between people, as well as between the volunteer and nature in the environmental activities.

Now, after two years with social distance, movement restrictions and a lot of awareness raising, we have transformed! We are more technologically savvy, we have learned and developed computer skills and our desire to do our bit has grown. We want to continue to be the change that our motto, #bethechange, is championing.

As a driving force behind new trends in social participation, we highlight the Civic Circle. It is driven by Points of Light, identifies the different challenges and opportunities for individual participation and brings them together in 9 ways in which people can contribute to improve the world and promote collective change. If you want to know what these 9 ways are, read on here. Voluntare has developed “The Voluntare Social Experience” which brings together the Civic Circle’s forms of social participation in three simple steps for companies.

Other formulas for social participation are: communication campaigns in RRSS, where the role of the volunteer is to share in their profile and give voice to the movement; Listen to a live webinar to learn about new organisations whose purposes deserve to be heard; Download a material that informs about a cause that the company wants to promote; Creative recycling workshops, where we contextualise the environmental situation of the planet and recycle everyday materials to give them a new life. And many more!
