Fundación Moeve celebrates the second edition of employability workshops as the consolidation of a real hands-on learning space

From Volies —as part of Fundación Moeve’s technical office— we have coordinated the second edition of the employability workshops, an initiative that continues to grow and consolidate itself as a practical space to improve access to employment for women in vulnerable situations.

Following a first edition in 2025, the program evolves while maintaining its essence: offering a realistic environment to practice interviews, receive direct guidance, and build confidence at a key stage of the job search process.

In this edition, the workshops have been carried out in collaboration with 9 social organizations —Mujeres en Zona de Conflicto, Hogar Betania, Fundación Cruz Blanca, Acción Contra el Hambre, Fundación Santa María la Real, Fundación José María de Llanos, Fundación Canaria MAIN, Fundación Integra, and Prolibertas—, with sessions held in Huelva, San Roque, Madrid, and Tenerife.

In total, more than 70 volunteers and nearly 90 women have participated, expanding the reach of the initiative and strengthening collaborative networks across different regions.

From format to experience: why employability workshops work

The “speed dating” format used in the employability workshops, already implemented in the previous edition, has become a proven and effective tool for developing employability through hands-on practice.

Each participant goes through several mock interviews with different volunteers, allowing them not only to gain diverse perspectives but also to apply improvements in real time. This repetition, within a safe environment, turns the session into a genuine learning experience rather than a one-off exercise.

Unlike more theoretical settings, the focus here is on doing, testing, and refining, with close and personalized support tailored to each individual.

“Many of the women who participate have never done an interview or, if they have, they haven’t received any kind of feedback. Here, they can practice without pressure, and above all, understand what they are doing well and what they can improve. This helps them leave feeling much more confident.”

The value of volunteering: supporting through experience

One of the key elements of the program is the role of volunteers. Previous experience in recruitment is not required—the value lies in sharing a professional perspective, listening, and creating a space of trust.

To support this, all participants receive prior online training, where practical guidelines are shared to help facilitate the sessions and better support the women throughout the experience.

This approach allows volunteers to bring a simple and realistic view of how recruitment processes work, generating useful and applicable learning.

An initiative that continues to grow

This second edition not only increases the number of participants and regions but also reinforces the idea that these types of initiatives work when sustained over time.

The collaboration with social organizations allows each session to be tailored to the real needs of participants, while volunteer involvement adds a level of real-world insight that is difficult to replicate in other formats.

Beyond the numbers, what is built in each session is a space to practice, make mistakes without pressure, and leave with more tools and confidence to face real processes.

“Participating in this volunteering experience has been deeply rewarding. Not only were we able to support these women in their job search process, but we also gained invaluable learning ourselves. It has been a true life lesson, an opportunity to connect with realities that often go unnoticed, and it has helped us reflect and grow both personally and professionally. Without a doubt, it has been an enriching exchange where everyone has benefited.”

At Volies, we continue to support Fundación Moeve in developing initiatives like this, which combine corporate volunteering and employability with a practical, people-centered approach.

Because when learning connects with real experience, opportunities stop being abstract and begin to take shape.
