More than 110 Autopistas volunteers in Catalonia take action for the environment

Autopistas, Aucat and Túnels de Barcelona and Cadí, subsidiaries of Autopistas in Catalonia, have organized three corporate volunteer days with the aim of raising awareness and actively contributing to environmental care in their areas of influence.

Actions in Collserola Park and Riera de Ribes

The activities in Túnels were carried out in the Collserolla Park and in the vicinity of the offices in Cadí.

  • 45 volunteers built nest boxes and insect hotels to strengthen the local biodiversity of Vallvidrera and the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees.
  • The 26 boxes and 15 hotels will be placed in the area of influence of Vallvidrera and Cadí.

For their part in Sitges, Aucat and Autopistas collaborators carried out cleaning tasks on the coast, in the Riera de Ribes, with the aim of improving the environment of the area by collecting more than 25 kg of plastics from the beach.

  • In addition, the 67 volunteers also made shelter spaces for birds and insects, in order to promote biodiversity and generate environmental awareness among the participants.
  • Once the tasks were completed, the 30 nest boxes and 15 insect hotels made were donated to the Sitges City Council for later placement.

These actions have been carried out together with Fundesplai, whose mission is to transform society through education for coexistence and sustainability.
