An initiative of the Bertelsmann Foundation's “Companies that Inspire”.
For three days, 42 students from 14 schools in the Autonomous Community of Madrid were able to share the day-to-day work of the company’s professionals at the Siemens offices in Tres Cantos, Madrid.
The initiative is part of the “Empresas que Inspiran” (Companies that Inspire) project of the Bertelsmann Foundation, of which Siemens is already a regular participant in the program, and which aims to improve the job orientation of secondary school students in Spain through real experiences in companies.
A total of 31 volunteers participated in these stays, who acted as hosts and taught the students the ins and outs of the company, encouraging them to choose engineering as a profession.

Inspirational talks and practical classes to guide them in their career choice
With this objective, the company organized different activities for the students during the 3 days:
- Inspirational talks: with the aim of showing different profiles of professionals from different areas of business and sustainability. The speakers, Siemens employees, explained their academic and professional career, sharing what led them to pursue these studies.
- And explaining their roles and functions within the company.
Talent Attraction, Sustainability, AI, Cybersecurity, BIM, Engineering, R&D, Quality, Compliance, Sales and bid preparation were some of the topics covered. - Practical classes: In which students were able to interact with teams of professionals and learn about engineering applications in a more practical way.

Virtual reality, R&D, Arduino programming and industrial applications: some of the applications they were able to learn about.
Among the issues that most surprised the students was the visit to the Demo center to learn about the signaling equipment, the Demo Hub RS with dynamics with virtual reality glasses, the R&D and Engineering Laboratories with electronics practices, the Signaling Workshop with programming of Arduino boards, as well as being able to learn about the products of the Siemens portfolio for industrial applications.
An enriching experience that they will surely not forget and that will allow them a real approach to this profession thanks to Siemens corporate volunteering and the participation of its volunteers in wanting to
