There are stories that deserve to be remembered. And people we must never forget. Today, October 29, marks the second anniversary of the DANA that struck Valencia and left a deep mark on thousands of people and communities.
Volies, Voluntare, and Raff & Batavia would like to mark this date with the premiere on our YouTube channel of “La Voluntad,” a documentary that pays tribute to those who lived through that tragedy, to those who lost their lives in it, and to all the people who, from the very beginning, stepped up to help, support, and provide comfort.
Unfortunately, it is a memory that remains very much alive. Not only because of all that still needs to be done in the affected areas and the lingering effects on so many people, but also because of the recent DANA Alice, which has once again struck part of the Valencian region, bringing back images of water, mud, and desolation—but also sparking a new wave of solidarity.
Volunteers arrived, offering their hands, their time, and their commitment. Amid the mud and uncertainty, they built bridges, offered support, and demonstrated that, even in the most difficult moments, solidarity can be an immense force.
