The situation that the whole world was thrown into after March 2020 changed the normality to which we were all accustomed. Voluntary actions, which up to that time had been face-to-face, especially in the environmental field, were no less so.

So at Volies we got down to work: we needed to do something, we couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. We launched a new initiative: #plantemosunnewomundofdecasa.

#Let’s plant a new world from home encouraged all volunteers who wanted to participate to receive a sustainable kit to plant seeds at home or in the office and take care of them following the advice, through instructions and a video, of the gardening professionals of a social organisation for people with disabilities.

Once the kits were sent to the volunteers’ homes, they were invited to participate in a video call where they all planted the seeds together following the instructions given by the people with disabilities. This was followed by a workshop on how to make homemade compost and recycling instructions.

To date, more than 10 large companies in Spain have participated in the initiative, with more than 1,500 volunteers, and it continues to grow.
