Fundación Telefónica once again celebrated the International Telefónica Volunteering Day (DIVT), a day that this year focused on a new stage in its corporate volunteering strategy: bringing technology closer to people as a tool for inclusion and opportunity generation.
The initiative brought together employees, social organizations and participants from different programmes through activities carried out simultaneously across several regions, reinforcing a vision of volunteering that is closely connected to today’s social challenges.
Innovation and social action in a single event
In Madrid, the programme took place at Distrito Telefónica and Espacio Fundación Telefónica, where workshops and activities focused on digital skills, artificial intelligence, technology education and support for older adults were held.
This edition also introduced the Tech4Social space, created to showcase technology-driven applications with social impact and to bring forward solutions related to employability, digital wellbeing and inclusion.
A volunteering model aligned with today’s challenges.
The approach promoted by Fundación Telefónica aims to strengthen a corporate volunteering model capable of generating social impact through digital skills development and support for vulnerable groups.
The activities addressed topics such as artificial intelligence applied to employment, computational thinking and digital rights, involving young people, older adults and participants from job inclusion programmes.
Collaboration with social organizations once again played a key role in the event, consolidating a network-based model that combines innovation, volunteering and social commitment.
