The Voluntare Report 2025 analyzes the evolution of corporate volunteering over the past decade and confirms its consolidation as a key strategic tool for organizations, both in terms of social impact and internal management, corporate culture, and reputation.
The study, developed in collaboration with the University of Almería and supported by Voluntariado CaixaBank, Fundación Repsol, and Fundación Telefónica, gathers insights from 236 organizations across Europe and Latin America. It is released at a particularly meaningful moment, on the eve of 2026, the International Year of Volunteers.
Among its main findings, the report highlights a sustained increase in participation: 77% of organizations now mobilize more than 10% of their workforce, and in nearly half of the companies, one in five employees takes part in corporate volunteering initiatives. In addition, volunteering activities are carried out predominantly during working hours, reinforcing their integration into companies’ day-to-day operations.
The analysis underscores the ethical and social motivation driving these programs: virtually all organizations promote them as part of their social responsibility and align them with causes valued by their stakeholders. Corporate volunteering is also clearly aligned with corporate values, real community needs, and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the social, educational, and environmental spheres.
Impact on people is another key focus of the report. Organizations report significant improvements in skills development, motivation, engagement, sense of belonging, and workplace climate, reinforcing volunteering’s role as a talent lever.
The study also identifies challenges and opportunities, including the need to further professionalize management, improve volunteer training, strengthen impact measurement, and advance communication. At the same time, it points to trends already shaping the present and future of corporate volunteering, such as virtual and hybrid volunteering, skills-based volunteering, and a stronger culture of partnerships among companies, social organizations, and communities.
