Getting to know Alucinos

For almost 40 years, the Asociación Alucinos La Salle has been transforming realities in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Madrid: San Fermín (Usera). Born in 1986 to address the social emergency arising from drug addiction and shantytowns in the area, Alucinos has evolved to become a community reference that combines social action, job placement, education and emotional health.
This week our entire team visited the Usera neighborhood where they focus their intervention, we got to know their different facilities and projects, and we shared lunch with professionals and users of the organization.
🎓 They accompany children and young people in their educational process.
🚪 They provide psychosocial and legal care to families in vulnerable situations.
🌿 Promote social employment and labor insertion programs with real impact.
🍽️ They innovate with social projects such as the collaborative dining room, the sustainable market where they not only feed, but also dignify and empower, and the recently launched “Balcón de Stella”, where you can support the project by enjoying a nice sunset by the lake tasting a cocktail or a grilled dish.
All this in alliance with La Salle, “Fundación ”la Caixa” and an extensive network of volunteers, companies and institutions that believe in the power of local change.
🙏 Thanks to their work, close to 400 families receive food, educational and emotional support each year. A clear sign that another way of intervening is possible.
