In 2025, we continued to strengthen corporate volunteering in Colombia. It has been a year of trust, of validating what has been built over previous years, and of committing to the future of our programs, people, and partner organizations.
Delivering value to our clients has been especially meaningful, allowing us to look ahead with optimism and strong conviction in what we do, despite the socio-political challenges that the near future may bring.
In the first half of the year, we welcomed Juan Ángel, with whom we had the opportunity to share our experience in impact measurement exercises, an area that has historically been a pending challenge for many organizations. In addition to visiting Bogotá and Medellín to advance our measurement work, we also created spaces for conversation and learning, such as recording a masterclass with our partner Comfama on volunteering and its impact on leadership in conscious companies.
We also highlight the commitment and determination of EDEQ (Empresa de Energía del Quindío) to develop its Volunteering Program, and for allowing us to support them in this major milestone from the very beginning, leading the design of their program strategy.
Impactamos from Bancolombia: Financial education for development
What would our lives be like if we had learned about financial education from school? This is one of the premises that has enabled us to generate new corporate volunteering initiatives in Colombia, promoting financial inclusion and strengthening the productive ecosystem as core pillars of Bancolombia and its volunteering strategy.
Expanding the program’s capacity, activity portfolio, and number of participating volunteers has been a major challenge, one that has been progressively built alongside our partners. This year, we also launched a training initiative for partner organizations, through which we aim to reach more organizations in the future, enriching the initiatives carried out by the Bank’s volunteer group with greater diversity, knowledge, and experience.
Impactamos has been the name chosen for Bancolombia’s volunteering program. Likewise, the year-end closing has been truly impactful with the “Vamos Nuquí” initiative, through which we brought different teams closer to the realities of remote communities, rich in talent, knowledge, and ancestral capabilities still to be revealed and shared with the modern world.
A four-day journey dedicated to exploring and understanding the territory, its culture, and its potential, while working side by side to build trust and support the growth and development of local entrepreneurial initiatives.
SAP: Expanding its impact in Latin America
SAP has begun expanding its corporate volunteering program across Latin America. We already had an established partnership in Europe, and now in Chile, Argentina, and Peru we are writing a new chapter for a program that has made a meaningful impact on the well-being of the communities we have engaged with this year.
From planting community gardens to support food security, to mentoring sessions for young people, facility improvement and refurbishment activities, and even wellness and beauty days with older adults in senior care centers, promoting self-care, boosting self-esteem, and supporting their physical and emotional well-being.
Bolívar Davivienda: Supporting the growth of social organizations
With Bolívar, we continued the training program for social organizations. Today, we are hearing stories and testimonials from companies in the country, (such as Grupo Familia or Essity), that have come to know the program, understand the impact it generates for NGOs, and actively seek out organizations that have completed the training process. Thanks to the self-certification seal granted by Voluntare, these organizations now benefit from greater visibility and inspire higher levels of trust among companies due to their strengthened capabilities and program management structures.
In addition, we launched a pilot initiative aimed at SMEs, raising awareness about the impact and potential of developing corporate volunteering programs within these companies, and providing them with tools such as the Impact Kit to support the effective management of their initiatives.
We celebrated a second year of Volies Colombia, full of high-impact social and environmental collaborations across the country, built together with committed companies and organizations. We continue to strengthen a network that connects purpose, territory, and action. Here’s to the third year.
