With the aim of supporting the Valencian Community, more than 300 AbbVie Spain employees took part in a day of volunteering at the A LA PAR Foundation to collaborate with the Pequeño Deseo Valencia Foundation, in which they developed various materials for hospitalized children, as well as supporting the resumption of activity at the Escoleta de Maru, a nursery school that remains closed after the damage suffered by the hurricane last October. This initiative is part of the company’s annual volunteer program, Week of Possibilities.

"Collaboration and commitment to people is part of the company's DNA. For this reason, at AbbVie we continue to promote volunteer actions that generate a positive impact on society. At this year's event, we did not want to forget Valencia, where, despite the fact that a few months have already passed, there are still many people who are still trying to recover the normality of their lives".

AbbVie employees participated in five activities with people from the A LA PAR Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. The tasks carried out included the creation of personalized kits to dress hospitalized children in Valencia as real superheroes, the creation of wooden figures and educational cards illustrated with animals, the painting of trolleys, the assembly of shelves, the preparation of furniture and the organization of material that will go to the Escoleta de Maru in Catarroja, one of the areas most affected by the FOD. All this work will reinforce the visual and tactile learning of the children in the nursery school, thus promoting a more playful and accessible learning environment.

Week of Possibilities, synonymous with sustainability and commitment to the community

AbbVie started the Week of Possibilities volunteer program in 2014, an initiative that has now become a global tradition for the company and focuses on collaborating on projects implemented in the areas where AbbVie employees live and work around the world.

Since the launch of this global volunteer week, AbbVie employees around the world have dedicated more than 370,000 hours to this program with the purpose of collaborating and helping local communities. An estimated 13,000 volunteers from more than 50 countries participate in each new edition of Week of Possibilities.

This volunteer day also coincides with a source of pride for the company: AbbVie has been recognized as the Best Place to Work in the Great Place to Work 2025 ranking for the second consecutive year, a milestone that reflects the importance of creating an environment of trust in which people feel valued, motivated and proud of their work.

Among the results, the employees’ appreciation of what they achieve with their work stands out. Ninety-five percent say they want to continue working at AbbVie for a long time; 97% of people feel good about the way they contribute to society and 96% say they feel proud when they say they work for the company.

"This recognition as a Best Place to Work for the second consecutive year reflects the commitment, dedication and passion that define AbbVie's culture. The combination of initiatives such as Week of Possibilities and the daily work of everyone at the company reinforces our purpose of making a positive impact on society. At AbbVie, we believe it is possible to work to the highest standards of excellence while building responsible, diverse environments that promote growth and respect for all people".
